Bringing Toys to Life

In 2004 when we first decided to start SilverTree, our first idea was to make toys come to life. We called it ToyBox Kingdoms, and the idea was that a kid would have a toy with a microchip in it which stood on a podium. The toy came with a wooden box that would connect to your game console. When the toy was put into the box it would appear on the screen alive and playable.

We made our first prototypes through a high quality vinyl toy manufacturer in China. We attached a small microchip which held character stats and inventory, as well as player information. The game was made in Panda 3D, and we also composed an wonderful musical score. This is still one of my favorite SilverTree creations, and one we're most often asked about to this day.
